1. Who we are
Writing Lab is operated by Sailaubek Group, Individual Entrepreneur (registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan). References to “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to Sailaubek Group IE. Questions about this policy can be sent to alisher@writinglab.one.
2. What data we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service:
- Account data — your name and email address when you sign up.
- Essay content — the text you submit for feedback.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, and timestamps, collected via standard server logs.
- Waitlist data — name, contact (Telegram handle or email), target band, and available time, if you join the waitlist.
- Payment data — handled entirely by our payment processor; we never store card numbers.
3. How we use your data
- To provide, operate, and improve the Writing Lab service.
- To generate AI feedback on your submitted essays.
- To send you transactional emails (account confirmations, feedback delivery, plan updates).
- To contact waitlist members when access becomes available.
- To detect and prevent abuse or unauthorised access.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your essays to train or fine-tune any third-party AI model without your explicit consent.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of contract performance (to deliver the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (operating and improving the platform, preventing fraud), and consent where required (e.g. marketing communications). You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing alisher@writinglab.one.
5. Third-party services
We use the following sub-processors. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
- Anthropic / Mistral — AI inference for essay feedback.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Vercel — web hosting and edge infrastructure.
We only share data with third parties to the extent necessary to deliver the service. We do not share your data with advertisers.
6. Data retention
Account data and submitted essays are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email alisher@writinglab.one. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. No consent banner is shown because no non-essential cookies are set.
9. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel only. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.
10. Children
Writing Lab is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
